A Decade Under the Influence

Yes, it's a song from Taking Back Sunday, but no, that's not the topic this time.

It's been 10 years since I started to pay attention to football matches... I hadn't realized that until talking w/ my brother on the phone this week (and I was like: "GOSH")!!

So the first one was FIFA World Cup 2002, and I merely knew Beckham.

Four years later, I supported England (+ Gerrard & Lampard) natürlich, but they're ruled out at the quarter-final stage. Then I turned to Italy (Totti, Cannavaro, Gattuso, Materazzi, De Rossi, Lippi) Besides them, I noticed the Germany national team (as a captain, Ballack totally showed his leadership; and Arne Friedrich und Frings also caught my eyes). As well as Spain (Luis García, Casillas & Torres).

During Euro Cup 2008, tho I only watched a couple of the matches, I was totally w/ Deutschland (+ Rolfes especially), n I posted sth. for the event somewhere else.

Two years ago, our wait came to a temporary end. I tried my best to participate in most of the tournaments, i.e. stayin' up regardless of my morning job. I blogged a lot n cared about Germany (+ NEUER, Badstuber, Jansen, Poldoski)/Italy (+ Montolivo, Zambrotta, Quagliarella, Claudio, Di Natale)/England/Spain (Inietsa, Alonso, Xavi, Villa, Ramos, Navas)/Australia (Neill, Moore, Kewell)/Argentina (Heinze, Mascherano, Higuaín, Demichelis & Verón)/Urugray (Forlán, Milito, Luis Suárez, Pérez)/U.S.A. (Carlos)/Portugal (Coentrão & Tiago)/Sweden (Rommedahl) etc.

UEFA Euro 2012, Spain won their third championship!

Now I understand why ppl call Messi a talented player. And I expect Kroos to be able to handle important tasks, cuz the Germany national team seems to need that recently...

Hexenkind et Fanfarlo

Just finished reading the German novel. It's quite realistic and I like it a lot. Dunno if it'd be adapted as a screenplay.

The UK band (I don't know each one of the 5 members' names even by now) was at Taipei this Tuesday, I went, but merely had fun for like, 10 minutes. The music didn't really appeal to me, and I was tired after that 8-hour work, so I stood there kinda blankly. The frontman might have wondered, what's wrong w/ her? could she stop staring at me? Anyways, they're very polite n energetic. Hey, Adam, I'm looking forward to ur coming!!

Instead of talent or ability, I'll focus on looks n personality this time. Still, only those who I've ever listened to their songs, but not all of 'em.

Ritter: Wild & seductive, especially his eyes. It's a shame da I didn't go to the gig on 13th, I Wanna's live version sounded even better!

Beckett: My brother regards him as a lead singer who has both of appearance n talent, tho his fave is Gerard. And it's true that Beckett is good-looking, moreover, he's skinny n tall.

Neil: Oh, lemme quote my brother's remark once again, "he looks like Jesus, but I don't think Jesus is handsome," c'mon, of course Jesus is handsome. Eh, it has nothing to w/ religious thing, so don't take it too seriously. The point is, since he's beared, I luv him. Btw, I just learned from Wikipedia that he's married, wtf??? So he did the same thing as Cobain, Casablancas, Way, Lazzara, Flowers...

Cobain: Honestly, I just thought of him. Even tho he's the greatest frontman, the truth is that he's long gone already. Nevertheless, he's beautiful, melancholy n gifted.

Saporta: Compared to Ritter, he's more like a crazy guy. Besides, it seems that he likes to interacts w/ fans, which is a good thing.

Vocals

Casablancas: Thanx to my poor listening, I can't understand the lyrics most of time (except for Take It or Leave It), however, I still luv him n regard 'em as a legend.

Way: Last yr, they had a gig in Taiwan n I was there. Even tho Disenchanted wasn't on the list and he sorta changed Welcome to The Black Parade, I didn't feel disappointed at all. And since I had that album, I'm quite familiar w/ all the lyrics. His pronunciation's merely second to Flowers.

Lazzara: Only better to Casablancas, I mean on that part. Besides, now I don't crave for going to their gigs that much.

Flowers: He pronouces pretty well, so I almost have no problem to follow his words. Moreover, it seems that his live performance is good as well.

Which should I focus while listening to songs, tunes or vocals? I need to practice my listening, yet I also wanna "recognize" those instruments. And it seems that I'm making progress, cuz I heard 3 different sounds in Last Nite, in addition to drums.

What a week.

What's good: The Transformers 2 didn't lemme down, tho I went watch it for the music. Since I'm sensitive (ahem), I burst into tears twice, haha. Surprisingly, 21 Guns appeared more often than New Divide, yet I wonder why they'd used it along w/ those scenes... Moreover, even tho I was desperate to go to the restroom, me n my brother still sat tight to wait for Capital M-E after the movie ended. And to our satisfaction, we heard it and it came as the 4th song!

What's bad: I can't login Myspace "normally". Google's homepage just keeps appearing, dammit! Rumor has it da Myspace's gonna come to an end. Honestly, I don't want that happen. Anyway, can sb. from their team fix the problem now?

What's wrong: The following link is Kasabian's MV, if u read it, u will know the song's called Empire. From the video, the song seems to be 'bout anti-war. I felt sad while the lil boy was shot down, and I regarded the scene as the first climax. Besides, there's a woman blowing dandelions, which reminded me of Make Damn Sure's MV, a lil boy did the same thing at last. Do dandelions represent peace??

Just released

The 4th album of TBS was finally out yesterday. I may not go get one copy now, but they'll always be the top one to me. And going to their gigs remains one of my goals in the future. Besides, MCR posted a blog on Myspace to let fans know 'bout the news, too! ;)

On the other hand, I watched KOL's latest MV, Notion. Honestly, I was more attracted by Caleb than the song (je suis desolèe). He did remind me of Leonardo DiCaprio in the vid, especially his facial expression n eyez...

Excitements

No boredom anymore. My recent life's full of interesting things. And I've been away from those party pix for nearly one month, yet I won't "go back" soon.

Just returned from a short break. It's truly nice to be home, I was quite relaxed then.

The following are wat distract me at the moment:

1. 꽃보다 男子, it's totally unexpected that I'd be fond of Korean ppl. However, I just can't help being crazy for it. And I luv 이민호 (Lee Min Ho) and 김범 (Kim Bum) the most! Lee Min Ho resmebles the original character much, both of his look n figure. As for Kim Bum, I honestly think he doesn't look like a Korean.

2. Music, especially "old" ones, like Utada Hikaru's First Love. Btw, Biffy Clyro's recording their 5th album!
